Why pricing is part of the product

Every platform in this space has tried the free-tier model. The result is always the same: a feed full of companies that are not ready to raise, investors who are browsing without mandate, and interactions that go nowhere. That is the noise. Noise & Signal was built specifically to eliminate it.

A company that pays to be on this platform has made a decision. They have decided that their fundraising is real, that their materials are ready, and that their time — and the time of the investors they are approaching — is worth protecting. That decision is visible to every investor in the feed. It changes the quality of every signal exchanged on the platform.

The same logic applies on the investor side. A fund that has paid for access intends to deploy capital. An interest signal from a Fund Pro subscriber carries institutional weight. It is not a browser clicking through a free feed — it is a credentialed investor with a registered mandate indicating that a company has passed their initial screen.

Our pricing is not designed to maximise signups. It is designed to maximise the quality of every interaction that happens on the platform. A $990 annual subscription is not cheap for an early-stage founder. That is the point. Founders who are not serious about fundraising will not pay it. Founders who do pay it are telling the market something meaningful.

The VC community is a small world. Institutional investors can find any company on LinkedIn, through their network, or via a Google search. Why identity is revealed only after the NDA. Knowing an investor's name and firm is enough to find them on LinkedIn and go around the platform.
